Meta offers its premium version of Facebook and Instagram via the Verified service which has become an issue for the users who have paid for the plans. Usually people who pay for apps expect premium service and customer support that solves all their problems. But these users have seen anything but that with the Meta Verified support system.

Meta has banned accounts in the recent weeks, and the affected list reportedly includes the Verified users, who are seeking the reason for such a tough action from the platform.

Meta Users Not Pleased

Meta has promised a host of benefits of getting the Verified plan, in addition to getting the badge. And customer support direct access is one of the claims by the company. But these recent events suggest the company is not being able to live up to its offerings. The report from TechCrunch says these users have been left frustrated by their wrongful suspension and to make matters worse, there has been no help from the company to reinstate their accounts.

Why The Ban?

Meta has relied on AI systems to handle these checks and other moderations and going by these trends, it seems the company is facing a rogue system that is finding it hard to differentiate between the legitimate and the fake accounts. Some of the Verified accounts have been running their business through the platforms, and their suspension has directly impacted their avenues to make money and even lost all their saved content.

AI systems have lapses in them and even giants like Google and Apple have faced its deficiencies. But account suspension, that too mistakenly does not look well on Meta, especially when you have people paying to use your services, and demand better support than the usual affair.

Meta launched Verified for business in India last year. The expanded Meta Verified business offering on Facebook and Instagram includes the verified badge along with enhanced account support, impersonation protection, and additional features to support discovery and connection. The subscription plans in India are available for purchase only via iOS or Android at this time for businesses on Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.

Businesses have an option to either purchase Meta Verified for Facebook or Instagram or WhatsApp or do a bundled purchase for Facebook and Instagram.
