Your Phone’s Battery Draining Faster Than Usual? Google Says It Was Instagram’s Fault
Apple’s AI features are less than impressive for now but the company is looking to make good use of the technology to help its iPhone users. New reports say Apple will adopt AI to improve the battery life for iPhone users and we could see it happen with the iOS 19 version coming out later this year.
AI has become a reliable way to make devices understand our usage and daily tasks, something that PCs powered by NPUs have delivered to good effect. It seems Apple is looking to apply the same logic and feature to get iPhones to run longer based on the person’s usage trends.
iPhone Battery Life Increase, Thanks To AI
iPhones generally have a long battery life all thanks to Apple’s management and software tuning to let the device run for long hours. However, the company is rumoured to bring the iPhone 17 Air model with a smaller battery pack, which could have played a big role in its decision to use AI to make the device last longer.
The report from Bloomberg says Apple will study the iPhone user’s routine and allow the popular apps to run at full tilt while managing the load in the background to enhance the life of the battery, which means increased number of charging cycles supported by the device overall.
The iOS 19 update will be available for a host of devices but the AI-powered features, like the battery management tool will be limited to those using the iPhone 15 Pro or later models. The iPhone 17 Air design will be sleek like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge model, and people are worried about its overall standby support, which brings AI to the forefront and Apple could be using the tech in the right way after all.
All these are still just rumours, including the news about the iPhone 17 Air launching this year. But we might get some of our answers at the Apple WWDC 2025 keynote in June where Tim Cook and Co. will walk us through the new iOS 19 version, new AI upgrades and more.
