CMF has gradually got a strong core of products from Nothing and a lot of them have been introduced in 2025. We’ve already talked about the CMF Phone 2 Pro model, and now it is time to focus on the CMF Buds sequel which now has a Plus variant.

Make no mistake, these are still for the budget-conscious and someone who still wants a decent chunk of the regular features. Priced at Rs 3,299 the CMF Buds 2 Plus looks to offer something extra, funky with its colour choices like blue and light grey and offer a compact solution for people who like to be plugged in wirelessly.

Compact And Sturdy

The case for the CMF Buds 2 Plus is compact in size which easily fits in the pocket and not very heavy at around 51 grams. The CMF branding is visible on the front side, and the matte finish in grey colour tends to catch dust quite easily. You have the dial attached to the case like the previous models but this one doesn’t support any features (more on that later).

The USB C charging port sits on the right side while there is a small light indicator to show the battery status of the case.

The earbuds on the 2 Plus get glossy finish which can make them slippery at times. The stem design is ubiquitous to the TWS arena now and the Buds 2 Plus didn’t feel the need to experiment in this case either.

What It Offers

CMF is making sure you don’t miss out on most features. Having said that, the dial control has been taken away from this version. You have ANC available and different modes that can be set up from the Nothing X app which is feature rich itself.

The Buds 2 Plus supports LDAC codec as well and you have in-ear detection which quite a few in this range miss out on offering. The tap settings can be customised from the app but by default you can long-press to activate ANC, double tap to forward to the next track and triple tap to rewind. So, yeah, CMF does not compromise and the specs sheet is clear evidence of its focus.

How It Sounds

But does the CMF Buds 2 Plus deliver where it really matters, surprisingly, it does. The audio profile is extremely balanced from CMF and you can enjoy the heavy bass stuff by tuning the app levels manually. The crisp notes are also evident which tells you the wide soundstage on offer with the Buds 2 Plus which is always a big advantage for different genres and listening patterns.

The ANC does a good job of isolating you from the noise but when you don’t have music playing, some ambient notes do creep through which is fine. The ambient and transparency modes in this range have often been underwhelming and we prefer to take the buds off than use these modes on most TWS earbuds in this segment.

CMF also lets you personalise the audio profile and go really deep in understanding what really works for your ears. The presence of spatial audio was a surprise but does a good job and effectively passes the sound around you.

CMF claims battery life up to 30 hours with the case and during our tests we rarely needed to get the case for charge. The buds can give you around 4 hours with ANC on and these figures were close to our real-life experiences.

CMF Buds 2 Plus is a compact, feature-rich and good-sounding TWS earbuds for under Rs 3,500 in the market. The battery life and ANC profiles will make it easy to use in loud conditions and even with the glossy buds the grip and fit won’t betray you.
