Vivo is adding another model to the V50 series in the Indian market this month. The Vivo V50 Elite Edition is scheduled to launch on May 15 and it seems the new model will look the narrow the gap between the V50 and the V50 Pro models.
It will also be Vivo’s first-ever “Elite Edition" model within the V-series and the company’s teaser suggests the new device will not be cheaper than the current models in the market.
Why Elite, Vivo?
One of the most anticipated aspects of the V50 Elite Edition is its upgraded camera system, powered by the Zeiss Optics lenses. The brand is likely to adopt its premium imaging sensors for this model. Vivo is expected to adopt the sleek circular camera housing like the other V50 models.
The phone it tipped to sport a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset or a MediaTek version. It should run on the Android 15-based Funtouch OS version. On the imaging front, we expect to see a dual 50MP rear camera system, and a 50MP front camera for detailed selfies.
Vivo is likely to use the new battery tech to pack a 6,000mAh unit inside the device with support for 80W fast charging expected. And yes, this will be the latest Vivo model to come with IP68/IP69 rating this year.
The V50 Elite Edition is expected to cost slightly more than the existing V50 model, which starts at Rs 34,999. The Elite Edition may launch around Rs 42,000 to Rs 46,000 in India and we will know more details soon.
