Chrome users on Windows and Mac are being warned about a major security risk by the Indian government. The popular browser faces regular issues and the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In has come out with another alert for millions of users.
The security issue is linked to some of the important components in Chrome that can make it easy for hackers to remotely access the vulnerable device and steal data.
Chrome Security Alert: What It Says
The latest security risk alert for Chrome users dated May 10, 2025 from CERT-In comes with a high severity rating which is never good news.
The warning also says, “These vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome due to Heap buffer overflow in HTML; Inappropriate implementation, Insufficient data validation and Out of bounds memory access in DevTools. A remote attacker could potentially exploit these by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted web page."
