Vodafone 5G has launched in India over the last few months but 2G users are still very much in focus and they are getting a sweet surprise from the company. The feature phone users running on the 2G network now get free additional validity of 24 days for the whole year, or 2 days in a month. And you don’t even have to pay anything extra to avail this offer.

Increasing the validity from 28 days to 30 days for Vodafone 2G users gives them additional time to recharge before their plan expires and they lose access to voice calls on their prepaid number.

Vodafone Free 2G Plan Validity For Users: Which Plans Eligible

The new Vi 2G offer for extra validity is available only for those using a 2G handset. And the validity of the offer can be only used on a single mobile number and one IMEI number of the device. The 2G special offer has started from July 1, 2025 and you can apply for it until August 31, 2025.

So, how can Vodafone Idea 2G users claim this offer? All they have to do is dial the USSD code *999# or you can call the IVR number 1212, follow the steps and get the extra 2 day validity for every month.

You can get the special 2G validity offer by recharging with any of these plans starting from Rs 199, Rs 218, Rs 224, Rs 232, Rs 289, Rs 339 and going all the way up to Rs 1,999. In case you upgrade to a 4G or 5G phone, the free offer will be removed for your number.

2G networks are still relevant in India because more than 200 million users rely on the service to use their affordable feature phones. These people don’t consume data and only need the 2G network to make calls.

Many telcos and brands have been looking to entice these users to make the 5G upgrade, and Vodafone Idea has a slew of plans to make them jump to the latest network that offers high data speeds and better coverage. Google is also advising people to stop using 2G network because of their limited security tech.
