WhatsApp will soon take on OpenAI and Gemini with its own custom AI chatbot builder with the messaging app for its users. You might find this news a bit strange but it seems Meta is pushing all the way with the popular platform and giving it a serious AI upgrade.

AI tools are becoming the go-to feature across apps and WhatsApp is unlikely to fall behind in this race. Latest details suggest the messaging will soon get a tab that will let you build new AI chatbots and you don’t even need to know coding to make it happen. The details come via WaBetaInfo once again, who claims the feature has rolled out to a small group of beta users on Android and iOS. WhatsApp is adding a new tab called AI Studio where you will be greeted with a page that houses all the chatbots you have created previously. 

WhatsApp will do a step process to help you create an AI and seek your inputs based on which chatbot will be generated. The message box here clearly says that Meta can use your interactions with AI to improve its own systems, and the company also knows how you use the AI to show you relevant chatbot models. 

WhatsApp is making sure that the AI Studio is accessible by any user and you don’t need technical expertise to build these AI chatbots. 

WhatsApp is still building the feature into the app so it might be a while before we see it roll out for the users but the messaging app is finally available on the iPad. Besides that, WhatsApp is also close to making usernames available so that people can stop sharing their phone numbers with everyone and strangers.
