Apple WWDC 2025 will start early next week and the company seems to have something big planned for this year’s event. No, we do not expect a lot of AI at the WWDC 2025 keynote, but other important updates like the new iOS and macOS versions will be detailed.

And this year could be Apple’s biggest iOS upgrade, with many reports hinting at a new naming sequence which now links to the year of the release, and in this case it could be iOS 26 and macOS 26 versions for iPhone and Mac users, respectively.

Apple is also likely to bring visual changes to the UI for the new iOS version. Here’s a detailed look at what the iOS 26 update could bring in terms of new features and design. 

iOS 26 Update: New Design, More Fluidity 

Rumours suggest the iOS 26 update will feature a design overhaul that will be called Solarium within Apple’s corners. It is likely to be inspired by the visionOS interface with its transparent cards, floating icons and control buttons and seemingly a more fluid UI that compliments the high-refresh rate display on the iPhones. 

Apple could also bring intuitive ways to navigate through the screen interface and also redesign the app design with emphasis on a mix of square and circle shapes in the picture. People have mocked iOS for looking a lot like Android in recent years, now might be a good time to change that narrative. 

New-Look Camera App 

The interface overhaul could also include a new-look camera interface on the iPhones. The tab and the main bar hosting the features will also get a translucent makeover as per rumours. The early leaks have received mixed response on the internet but Apple should ideally have a clearer idea about making the UI changes suited to the new platform language. 

More Features Coming Your Way 

AI is not going to be a hot topic for Apple at the keynote but you will see the tech integrated into iOS 26 in a big way. The company is expected to bring an AI-powered battery management system that will look to improve the battery life of the device by studying your usage patterns and the app consuming most power in the background. 

Easy To Use Public Wi-Fi 

Report from Bloomberg earlier said that the iOS 26 feature will automatically sync with new public Wi-Fi networks and the same details will be registered with all the devices running on the latest iOS version. For instance, if your iPhone is connected to a hotel Wi-Fi or your office Wi-Fi, the iPad and even Mac will sync to these networks so that you don’t have to login into them every time.

New Gaming Hub 

Apple wants to improve on its current gaming stable and bring a new hub that will give you access to scores of all players, content around games, the latest Arcade titles and possible means to download other games to the devices linked to your account. 

The news around iOS 19 giving way to iOS 26 did surprise many but it seems Apple’s lack of AI-related news and Siri AI delay means we could be looking at visual upgrades at the WWDC 2025 this year.
