The iPhone 17 Air rumours are now going to intensify as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has come out and we also have the important details about the sleek device. The iPhone 17 Air name itself is shrouded in mystery and won’t be made official till September at least but the latest update around the supposed iPhone 17 model is not promising in some aspects.

As we have said before, Apple is betting on quite a few changes to bring its thinnest iPhone ever this year. And the slim frame of the iPhone 17 Air means the company will have to make some tough choices. The new leak shows us how much the company could gamble to get its unique device out in the market.

iPhone 17 Air Battery Leak Details

The details from various sources this week claim the iPhone 17 Air will measure around 5.5mm which will make it thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge at 5.85mm frame.

But the other part of the iPhone 17 Air leak suggests Apple will offer a 2800mAh battery which is significantly smaller than the 3900mAh unit packed in the Galaxy S25 Edge by Samsung. We’re not sure of these figures, primarily because, any phone in 2025 does not warrant a battery that small, no matter how sleek or light it is.

We’re definitely going to take it with a pinch of salt, especially since the same report claims the 17 Air could weigh close to 145 grams which is again over 20 grams lighter than the S25 Edge. It is also being said that Apple could adopt a new battery tech to get more out of the capacity which also will be worth keeping an eye on.

But the most possible aspect that connects all the dots is the plan to bring an external battery case which promises to help with the deficiencies of the model. Having said that, the case itself means Apple will have a new way to strengthen its business and make more money for its products.

We are excited and worried in equal measures about the iPhone 17 Air and there is hope that Apple will keep all the important parts of the device in mind before making it official.
