The iOS 18.5 update is finally out and all iPhone users can now install the latest iOS 18 version on their eligible models. The iOS 18.5 beta 2 version had come out last week, which suggested Apple is pretty much set on offering the public version soon and now you have got your hands on possibly the last iOS 18 update from the company.

After all, in around one month from now, Apple will shift its focus on the iOS 19 version which is tipped to be its biggest upgrade in years for iPhone users. The WWDC 2025 will be the platform where we will hear more about the latest iOS version and hopefully some major AI upgrades in the offing. So, what do iPhone users get with the iOS 18.5 update and how can they install the new version, here’s a quick summary of everything.

iOS 18.5 Update: New Features Coming To iPhones

The biggest highlight of the iOS 18.5 update is that Apple is bringing SOS satellite connectivity to models like the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro this month. These are supported by the carriers which makes it easy to enable for the iPhone users. Apple introduced these features with the iPhone 14 model a few years back.

As we have said before,  you can customise the look of the Apple Mail app by letting you hide the profile photos of the contacts within the Settings. In addition to this, you will see the AppleCare and Warranty section looking slightly different with a cleaner banner.

Apple is also bringing a new Pride Harmony wallpaper across models, and better security for parents and giving them better control of how their kids consume content on the iPad or iPhone.

The iOS 18.5 update also caters to some major security risks which Apple claims to have fixed with the new version, which makes it vital that all iPhone and iPad users install the new iOS 18 update.

iOS 18.5 Update: How To Install

You will need iPhone Xs or higher models to install the iOS 18.5 update. The limited set of features on offer clearly tells us that Apple is saving the big guns for later this year when the iOS 19 rolls out.
