The iOS 18.5 beta has now moved to phase 2 as Apple looks to put the finishing touches before the public release is available for all iPhone users. We have already given you details on the iOS 18.5 beta 1 update that came out earlier this month, and now the beta 2 version suggests we are step closer to seeing the big iOS 19 update announced at the WWDC 2025 keynote in June.

iOS 18.5 Beta 2 Update: What Apple Offers

The iOS 18.5 beta 1 update allowed you to customise the look of the Apple Mail app by letting you hide the profile photos of the contacts within the Settings. In addition to this, you will see the AppleCare and Warranty section looking slightly different with a cleaner banner.

What does the iOS 18.5 beta 2 version offer for the iPhone users? Nothing much so far in terms of new features, and it seems the new update primarily brings stability to the iOS 18.5 version which is equally valuable for iPhone users.

Most of the improvements are on the performance side, and if you were hoping for more AI goodies from Apple, you will have to wait for the iOS 19 update later this year.

It is not surprising to see Apple keep the powder dry with the new features, and the iOS 18.5 update is unlikely to go further, which goes in schedule for the company and soon we will see the iOS 19 developer beta roll out.

Many reports suggest Apple is planning for a big overhaul with iOS 19 which includes new design for the icons and other customisations. We could also see some Android-like features rolling out for iPhone users, and yes, better integration with iPadOS or maybe macOS too.
